Abstract: | Many corporations rely on Data Guard as a primary disaster recovery (DR) solution. The very purpose of having a DR system is to provide business continuity in case of a disaster. How will you know that your DR system is ready for a switchover ? How good is it to invest in or rely on a DR system that may not meet your business continuity service level agreements? This paper discusses on how to utilize a Data Guard Configuration Verification Utility (DGCVU) that was developed based on Data Guard best practices and also how to leverage Oracle Grid Control's extensibility features to monitor Data Guard health at an enterprise level. |
