Objectives: | Learn real world techniques that would make developing ETL using OWB a breeze Rapidly deploy reusable components that increase productivity and cut down development time Automate deployment of ETL across environments from development to production |
Abstract: | Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) is gaining wide acceptance as an effective ETL tool because of its low cost and tight integration with the Oracle database and BI tools. But, poorly designed ETL within OWB can lead to mediocre performance and prevent successful implementation. This session presents proven techniques for developing a robust ETL solution that is highly scalable, and easy to maintain with emphasis on performance. Techniques for loading slowly changing dimensions (SCD), error handling, tuning mappings and recovering incomplete process flows will be discussed. Finally, the session will also present tips to deploy metadata across environments using reusable components. After attending this session, attendees will gain knowledge of proven techniques for designing efficient ETL using OWB leading to successful deployment. |
