Abstract:	Microsoft is a robust and stable platform that has been a core Oracle platform for many years. Issues that have affected Oracle scalability with 32-bit Windows has been eliminated with 64-bit Windows. For customers that are a “Windows shop”, this is an ideal platform for Oracle. With Oracle 11g there are a number of new features focused on the Windows platform. These new features will be covered in this presentation. This paper will start with a Brief Overview of the Oracle on Windows architecture. A discussion on the use for the Windows thread architecture will be provided and explanation on why this causes problems in a 32-bit environment and how 64-bit solves this problem. Finally the benefits and Oracle 11g features for Windows will be provided.
