Abstract: I am not a project manager. So why should I bother being certified as a PMP? Is it like being jack of all trades and master of none? Indeed, the answer is that every application project has a database piece to it if data needs to persist. I consider database and its actors (Architects, modelers, developers, administrators etc.) as the backstage artists. Without the backstage artist, a show cannot be successful. And in this context, for the show (application) to be successful, Database Architecture, modeling, development and administration all need to be managed. If one understood the principles of project management, it would assist, from defining the scope all the way to implementation without much cost or time overruns. This session will walk you through different aspects of Project Management and its relevance to the database side.
