Abstract: Learn how to integrate PL/SQL procedures into your interactive reporting applications. Also see when Excel data sources are effective for interactive reporting application.

This presentation will show how to evaluate the use of PL/SQL procedures in reporting applications, and provide step-by-step examples and screen shots of the procedures required to include these packages report applications. We will discuss the advantages and difficulties involved using these powerful tools as part of the application.

In another turn, this session will demonstrate using Excel files as data sources in report applications. We will discuss when and why these strategies could be useful in report application development. Necessary precautions to consider when including these data sources will be outlined. Three scenarios will be presented demonstrating effective use of these data sources in a report application.

There will be time for discussion and questions from attendees.
